Aviva considers herself a native of Nassau County where she lives with her four children. She completed her Masters degree in Audiology at the CUNY Brooklyn College graduating in 2006. Aviva opened a practice in New Jersey in 2007, and helped patients and doctors understand the need for a hearing evaluation as part of the basic annual check up. In 2011 a prominent hearing aid manufacturer asked Aviva to join their team. She was asked to facilitate with developing their training strategies to better assist patients and their outcomes with hearing aids. In 2016 Aviva was asked to join the largest corporation in the hearing aid industry to help advance their retail strategies for their 1300 locations across the US and Canada.
In 2017 Aviva took her experiences and developed a clinic where patient care and the customer experience become one. I Love Hearing Inc. is the creation of a new wave of hearing health care. Enabling patients to have the utmost level of care while becoming apart of our family.
Aviva is most well known for educating and counseling her clients in regards to his or her specific hearing loss, realistic expectations in regards to amplification and communication strategies for clients and family members. She believes her role as an audiologist is to provide her clients with all of the necessary information to make their own educated decisions.
Lynn Sirow, Ph.D., CCC-A, FAAA
Dr. Sirow founded the Port Washington Hearing Center in 1984, following a clinical and teaching position on the staff of Albert Einstein School of Medicine, and her prior employment as Chief of the Audiology section of the Veteran’s Administration Outpatient Clinic in New York City.
Dr. Sirow earned her B.A. and M.A. degrees from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland Ohio. Following a clinical fellowship year at the Pittsburgh Hearing and Speech Center, she returned to school at Columbia University in New York City to earn her Ph.D. in Audiology in 1978.
Following graduation, Dr. Sirow served first as a research associate at the V.A. Outpatient Clinic in Manhattan. After a year in that position, she became the Assistant Chief of Speech Pathology and Audiology, directing the audiology department at that facility. Following her tenure at the V.A., she served on the staff and faculty of the Albert Einstein College of Medicine prior to moving into private practice and creating the Port Washington Hearing Center.
In addition to clinical work, Dr. Sirow has been an adjunct professor at Columbia University, New York University, and Long Island University. She is presently an Adjunct Assistant Professor at the Graduate Center of the City University of New York, and teaches courses in Central Auditory Processing, Amplification, and the Management of Private Practice.
She is also a research associate of the Hearing Aid Laboratory at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois, and of the Graduate Center at the City University of New York. She is currently involved in the publication of two research papers, and most recently delivered a paper at the HEAL meeting in Cernobbio, Italy (June, 2014).
Her membership in professional societies includes: American Speech and Hearing Association, American Academy of Audiology, Academy of Doctors of Audiology, and the Hearing Care Group (past president).
Cindy Bergman, M.A., CCC-A, FAAA
Mrs. Bergman joined the staff of Port Washington Hearing Center in 1997 following several years of clinical work at the offices of private practitioners. She also clinical experience at the Long Island Jewish Hospital clinic, and at Just Kids.
Mrs. Bergman earned her B.A. at the University of Wisconsin, and her M.A. in Audiology at Hofstra University in 1992. She has approval from the Internal Review Boards of Northwestern University and City University of New York to engage in research activities, and has been instrumental in the data collection of studies done at Port Washington Hearing Center.
Her membership in professional societies includes: American Speech,Language and Hearing Association, and the American Academy of Audiology.
Mrs. Pittman has served as our office manager since 1997. She is well versed in assessing which audiological procedures are appropriate for each patient, and knows the ins and outs of filing for insurance.
